New Finance Manager for Ramona's Water District
Richard Hannasch comes from North County Transit District.
A new finance manager will start at Ramona Municipal Water District on Monday.
He's Richard Hannasch, former chief financial and administrative officer of North County Transit District (NCTD).
David Barnum, who was Ramona's finance manager, was made general manager of the water district following Ralph McIntosh's retirement in October.
Barnum said Hannasch was chosen from a field of "highly qualified candidates" and the district is very pleased to have him.
Hannasch was responsible for the departments which support NCTD's transportation services including finance, budgeting, insurance and risk management, procurement and information systems, Barnum stated in a news release.
During his 10 years with NCTD, Hannasch also worked on regional transportation issues with the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System and San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG).
Hannasch is a certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and graduate of Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
His previous work experience has included positions in public accounting, banking and non-profit organizations.

Experience in "Non Profits" is good! Profits are few and far!, he sounds very qualified.
I am glad to see new blood there, and someone who is not drenched in local "issues" that are not germane. Water issues are going to get tougher not easier, there is no Water shortage, just misuse, abuse, & ignorance as to the real value and therefore objective management problems. Do the math, Water is cheaper than dirt, delivered to your home in any volume or quality, and more important to.
Most the country is up grading to "Smart meters" this is an investment that needs good real numbers, not feelings of politics or "the way we've done it for decades" Smart Meters eliminate the job of Meter Readers, and allows leak detection and management, Consumers are able to read the Meter any time of day in a language they understand as to how much Water they are using and for what, when and why! just like a Computer App. as a result billing issues are very view. Accounting of all the Water in a District is more transparent. Water theft is all but eliminated! For more on the "Smart Meters" search on line AMI and other acronyms at Water Mgmt. Sites Deduct Meters for residences that do not want to pay a Sewage Fee for Irrigation Water will be possible and this is approx. half of the Water Bill! Interested yet?

Yea, eliminating jobs does save somebody some money, not sure if it a good move for a local small economy, and surely not a good move for all those RMWD employees who will be out of work.

I knew I would strike a nerve somewhere. How many Meter readers will be un employed if they transfer in company? and how many thousands of man hours will be paid installing these Meters? and thru savings of Water we will be able to have Water. Labor wastes are just that, computers did not do away with all jobs like once said decades ago, instead I bet you know of someone who has a job because of computers! and our productivity is higher as a result we are not a small community, we are 40,000 people Towns all across the country where they are small do exist, but like I said "Good real numbers are needed from this new blood at RMWD!

TRANSFER TO WHAT? AND WHY WOULD YOU BELIEVE A METER READER CAN INSTALL THE NEW METERS. WE ARE NOT A SMALL TOWN I SAID A SMALL ECONOMY, SIMPLY BECAUSE PEOPLE STILL BELIEVE SOMEONE DOWN THE HILL HAS A BETTER DEAL. I KNOW OF MORE PEOPLE WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED THAN EMPLOYED ON A COMPUTER, BECAUSE SOMEONE THOUGHT THEY COULD GET CHEAPER LABOR SOMEWHERE ELSE, LIKE India and China. Nothing I hate more than trying to talk to a company I use in the USA and not being able to understand that cheaper labor on the phone. I know what happens when the computer runs things and turns off the electricity for hours over two states because no one understands how they really work, or what is happening to make then decide to turn things off on their own. I think convenience may save money, but it gives us a false sense of security and makes us lazy.

I am sorry you feel bad about the economy and do not understand what "Conservation Dashboards are" , and think I suggested Meter Readers be the ones to install new generation equipment. and think I am for causing people too lose jobs. My suggestions had nothing to do with sending jobs to poor english speaking peoples. Quite the contrary, I train Southern Ca. employed and un employed people to up-skill so they can install Emerging Technologies such as Smart Meters, but including them, that create jobs and preserve the Water we need , waste and under appreciate here.
If you would like to view my websites that give (for free to all) information that they can use in employment and or just saving a buck on personal expences please e mail me at greg@ramonasplumber.com or see diyplumbingadvive.com or grenplumbersaccreditation.com.

Correction, to above "but NOT including them" in reference to smart meters. I do not train that exact skill.
